Privacy policy

Image Cropper opens a workspace for selecting, cropping and downloading images. This policy describes the image session, the review prompt, the welcome counter and the external forms used by this version.

Images and the editing session

When you select or drop files, the extension reads their image bytes, filenames, dimensions and image metadata needed for decoding. It creates working images and crop coordinates for the preview and export. You can edit several selected images and download individual results or a ZIP archive.

Removing an image releases its working image and object URL. Closing the workspace ends the editing session. Files you download remain in the location selected by your browser and must be managed separately.

Review prompt settings

The extension uses the Chrome storage permission for the review prompt. In chrome.storage.local, the key imageCropperRatePrompt records when the prompt was shown and whether you dismissed it or chose the feedback or store-review branch. These fields control how often the prompt appears and remain between sessions until changed or the extension's stored data is removed.

Choosing one to three stars opens the configured feedback form. Choosing four or five stars opens the Chrome Web Store review page when the store item is configured. The extension records which branch was chosen, not whether a review was submitted.

Welcome page counter

After installation, the extension opens its bundled welcome page. This page requests a 1 by 1 image from mc.yandex.ru using Yandex Metrica counter 41115469. The request measures loads of that welcome page. Reloading or reopening the page can trigger another request, so a page-load count is not necessarily a count of distinct installations.

The request URL contains the counter ID and a fixed page address identifying Image Cropper. The receiving service also receives connection information such as an IP address, browser request headers and the request time. Depending on browser settings and the service's response, cookies for that service may be sent or stored. The image is requested when the page loads, before a click on the page is required.

Data retained by the counter service and the reports available to the publisher depend on the service and counter configuration. Blocking the counter host before loading the welcome page can prevent that request. Closing the page after the request has completed does not retract it.

Feedback, removal and store pages

The feedback link and the lower-star review choices open a Google Form. A separate Google Form is configured as the page Chrome opens when the extension is removed. Submitting either form is optional. The form provider handles the connection and submission, and the publisher can receive the answers you submit. Include only information you intend to share with the publisher.

When you open a form, a Chrome Web Store review page or the hosted policy page, its host handles that page request under its own data practices. The extension also opens or focuses its workspace when you click its toolbar icon.

For questions about this extension's data handling or to request access to or deletion of a form submission, use the publisher's contact form. Describe the relevant submission so that the publisher can assess what can be located. Provider-held data and downloaded files are managed separately from the extension's prompt settings.
